Part Time Jobs for Active Duty Military

Make extra money on the side.

Let’s face it… despite all the benefits of being in the military it is still tough to make ends meet. For this reason I put together a list of part time jobs for active duty military to give you some ideas on how to make some extra money on the side.

I listed some jobs that others have done, however if you’re in the military then making money online is something you should seriously consider. For this reason, I think #4 is the best option. Also check out Home Based Internet Jobs for other ways to make money online.

4 Part Time Jobs for Active Duty Military

1. Bouncer

I can’t tell you how many of my fellow Soldiers got weekend jobs as bouncers. They all really liked it too, it is a way to blend making a little extra money with hanging out at the bar.

2. Food Delivery

This is a typically a night and weekend job that won’t interfere with your normal work schedule.

3. Taxi Driver

The majority of your fellow service members will need taxi service at night and weekends, which is when you’ll be available. When I was at Ft Leonard Wood for some training I saw an accident, which happened to involve one of my instructors who drove taxis at night. He seemed to really enjoy doing this on the side, particularly because of its flexibility.

4. Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketers make money by promoting products online through their websites. I give a much more detailed description in What is Online Affiliate Marketing. In my opinion, out of all the part time jobs for active duty military this one is the best. Here are a few reasons why:

  • All you need is an internet connection so you can still work when deployed or on TDY.
  • When you PCS, you don’t have to find a new job at your next duty station.
  • You are your own boss and work at your own pace.
  • Most units require 0-3 approval to have another job, you shouldn’t have to go through that hassle with this. Some units or services may differ so double check with your JAG if you have questions.
  • Once you get your website up and running, it will continue to make money while you are deployed or in the field.
  • No IT or online marketing experience is required to get started. I joined a group called Wealthy Affiliate and tried their Free Starter Membership, which got me on track with affiliate marketing.
  • This is very low stress… its not like you need any more in your life.
  • You won’t have to balance your military duties with the demands of another employer.

If affiliate marketing is new to you then I recommend that you check out my Wealthy Affiliate review to decide if it is something you want to try.
