is Affilorama a Scam?

Don’t fall for another rip-off.

Is Affilorama a scam or is it really as good as people say. You’ve heard about the program but before you spend  any money you want to know the truth. Keep reading and I will have the answer to “Is Affilorama a Scam?”

Where I first started looking for programs to teach me how to make money online I ended up choosing programs and products that ended up being complete scams or ripoffs.

While trying to navigate through the fog of over-hype, I learned to look for things that indicated whether the program was legitimate or would probably be another ripoff.

Through all the searching and spending, I developed 8 Signs of Internet Scams that I use to evaluate any program before I spend any money on it.

I joined Affilorama and I have the insiders look about the program. Click to read my full review.

So now I will use my 8 signs to show you whether this gamble or legitimate opportunity.

1. Immediate and Aggressive Up-sales.

Affilorama offers a free trial membership that allows people to test the program before they buy. Typically a free trial membership means that there is a paid membership that offers more features. This is true with Affilorama; there is a free membership and a premium membership.

is affilorama a scam?So the first upsell is to buy into the premium membership. I will discuss the pricing for the premium membership in a few minutes.

But wait, there’s more up-sells. Even after you pay into the premium membership there are more attempts by Affilorama to separate you from your money. Here is a breakdown of all up-sells to include the premium membership.

  • Premium Membership: $1 for the first month, $67 for each additional month. As one might expect, the premium membership offers more features and training then available in the free membership.
  • AffiloTheme: $97. AffiloTheme tries to be a one-stop-shop for website building.
  • AffiloBlueprint: $197. AffiloBlueprint is the step-by-step guide to making money online.
  • AffliloJetpack: $997. AffliloJetpack is basically a website-in-a-box where you get to choose 5 premade websites from 18 possible niches.

While there are up-sells, I would not classify them as immediate or aggressive. Up-sells are a part of the internet marketing world, however the manner of these up-sells is an indication of whether the program is a scam or ripoff.

The fact that affilorama allows you to navigate and get free training in the trial membership before you upgrade is a good indication for the program.

Typically the scams will lure you into a “free” or low-cost membership then immediately require an upgrade before you get to see anything. Affilorama is not like this, they let you navigate and explore the program before getting you up with any up-sells.

Essentially what affilorama does is allow you to test the worth of a program before they ask you for any money. This is a good sign for potential customers.

2. Hidden Up-sales.

I already discussed the up-sells so I won’t go into more detail now. While there are up-sells, there is nothing hidden or shady going on that I could find.

Another good thing about Affilorama, that is not typical with the scams, is that they allow you to enjoy the free membership without ever entering any billing information. This is also a good indication that you won’t get any surprise charges your credit card statement.

Pass/Fail for Sign #1: Pass

3. Money Back Guarantee Instead of a Free Trial Membership.

Affilorama offers both a free trial membership and moneyback guarantees for the up-sells (excluding the premium membership). These are good signs for potential customers. The free trial membership is a good indicator for the program.

For the other up-sells (AffiloTheme, AffiloBlueprint, and AffiloJetpack) there are 60 day moneyback guarantees. I didn’t personally buy any of the up-sells except for the premium so I didn’t test whether they would honor the moneyback guarantees.

Since everything else I found in the program is legitimate, I have no reason to doubt that they will give you your money back if you ask for it.

Exceptions for rule #3. Not all money back guarantees are scams, but most scams have money back “guarantees.”  Just do your homework first before you join any program. The legit programs that offer a money back guarantee will usually offer something like a free ebook or other material before they ask to buy their program. This at least allows you to judge their quality before you have to pay.

Pass/Fail for Sign #3: Pass

4. Sell You on Luxury.

There are no attempts by Affilorama to sell you on a luxurious lifestyle that you get after joining the program. The scams will typically flash images of girls in bikinis, beach homes, luxury cars, and expensive champagne. There isn’t really any of this with Affilorama.

They are pretty straightforward with their marketing and don’t give any unrealistic promises.

Pass/Fail for Sign #4: Pass

5. They do the Work for You.

Affilorama doesn’t really hide the fact that it is up to you to make the program work. The AffiloJetpack is the only thing close to this, however if you read the sales page they do tell you that is up to you to do some of the work. The program is designed to help you, not do the work for you and they’re pretty clear about this.

Pass/Fail for Sign #5: Pass

6. Their Site is Just a Video.

Scams will have a sales page with nothing but a long video where they go on and on about how great their program is. The problem is they take 30 or more minutes to talk about how great the program is. After the video is over you have no clue what the program is or what it does.

This is not the case with Affilorama. Their sales page tells you what’s inside. I joined both the free and premium memberships, and what they advertised is pretty much what you got inside the program.

Pass/Fail for Sign #6: Pass

7. No Support.

The support from Affilorama is pretty good. When you have a question you can open up a ticket and then someone will contact you with assistance. I only had to use the support one time and they got back to me within about 24 hours.

Typically the scams and ripoffs will promise to be there, to hold your hand, and help you every step of the way. But once you join they are off spending your money while you’re struggling to figure out what to do next. This isn’t the case with Affilorama, they do have a support system.

Pass/Fail for Sign #7: Pass

8. Its Free, But we Still Want Your Credit Card Info.

I already touched on this so I won’t go into detail again article source. Affilorama doesn’t ask for your credit card info until you want to upgrade to premium or purchase an up-sell.

If you go to the AffiloJetpack sales page and try to navigate away they will also give you two free e-books so this is another plus.

Pass/Fail for Sign #8: Pass

Conclusion: Is Affilorama a Scam?

Based on the 8 Signs of Internet Scams, we can feel pretty confident that Affilorama is a legitimate program. I joined the premium membership and I can assure you that it is not a scam.

Should you join Affilorama just because it is Not a Scam?

How to make money online businessWhile I am confident in assuring you that Affilorama is not a scam or ripoff, I am not encouraging you to rush off and join. Before you join, I recommend that you read my full review here.

While Affilorama is a pretty good program, it is not the best program out there. In my opinion, there are better programs that are also cheaper and don’t have the $1,000 up-sells.

      John,

To be fair, Affilorama is one of the better programs out there. Some people probably actually prefer their system. It is important to note that there are better programs out there for less money and don’t have all the upsells.

I had no idea that Affilorama offered so many up-sells. Their presentation video does not talk about the up-sells at all. Thanks for sharing this post 🙂

Yea they don’t mention it until you are in the program. This is kind of the norm for most IM products. I’m not a big fan of not knowing whats in the program until you join but its just the name of the game.
